Megyn Kelly on Kamala Harris: “America will not elect this nimrod as its first female president”

Megyn Kelly likes former President Donald Trump’s chances of being reinstated this November, saying Vice President Kamala Harris is a “nimrod” who will be rejected by voters after she emerged as the presumptive Democratic nominee following the decision of President Joe Biden not to seek re-election.

“I’m telling you, America will not elect this nimrod as its first female president. I give them a lot of credit for that,” Kelly said during a special Sunday broadcast of her SiriusXM show “The Megyn Kelly Show.”

Kelly said voters “aren’t that dumb” and “they’re not that open to a female president where they would be, anybody will do.”

The former Fox News prime-time anchor said that as a mother of a daughter, she felt she was “affected” that there still hasn’t been a woman elected president of the United States.

“I hate the fact that when you pull out your little rug when your kids are learning the presidents, there’s no female face on there, then you have to explain why,” Kelly said.

She added that she would “like to see a female president like a Margaret Thatcher type” who is “strong, serious, measured and respected”.

“That’s not it,” Kelly said of Harris. The Post has sought comment from the vice president.

The latest on President Biden’s decision to drop out of the 2024 presidential race:

Harris won the endorsement of Biden, as well as other Democratic power brokers, shortly after the president announced Sunday that he would not seek another four-year term in the White House.

If elected, she will be the first female president in US history. But polls show that in a head-to-head matchup with the GOP nominee, Trump, she would lose.

Trump was beating Biden in the polls in the wake of the president’s disastrous performance during last month’s debate in Atlanta, where he appeared to be showing signs of severe cognitive decline.

Biden quickly endorsed Harris to take on Trump and encouraged his party to rally behind her, making her the party’s instant favorite for the nomination at its August convention in Chicago.

Harris, in a statement, praised Biden’s “selfless and patriotic act” and said she intends to “win and win” her party’s nomination.
